This is a beginning, of a plan to make all of the old classic Hersh logos and lettering as shirts, to try to give Hersh people, and Hersh the merch they deserve, screen printed by hand, by a strange angel, with money going directly where it always should have gone, directly to Kristin Hersh to help pay for studio time, so that she can continue to make more of the things we need.
🎨 Classic Kristin Hersh Solo
This is a very special logo for me, I had no clue who Kristin Hersh was until "Hips and Makers" came out. I was working Saturdays in an independent record shop, and I always used to play the best selling album of the day, just to see what people were listening to, and it's no exaggeration to say, this album eventually steered the course of my life. It's a beautiful logo, I have it tattooed so, I carry it everywhere (Means I can't ever wear a KH logo T-Shirt, but that's OK, I have lots of other options). For me, it represents the very heart of what music should be, personal, honest, passionate, not made for fame or money, but made because it needs to be made. It represents Hersh's refusal to sell out to the industry, despite what it cost her. This is why her work is so important. She has honed her craft, while still being true to the music, despite the industry, and maybe in some ways because of it... she dug in and I have undying respect for that. Every Hersh purchase directly funds Kristin Hersh studio time, helping to keep her in the studio where she belongs, and to help bring us all more of these amazing musical gifts.
