🖤We are Stars
The idea for this came by accident when my kid was making herself a Rorschach, and she had some left over ink that we were putting on a messy artist shirt, and she managed to splat it in this beautiful starfield pattern. I wondered what that would look like as a whole shirt, so we set to and made a bunch of them. They were physically quite difficult, requiring some brute force to get the fine splatter to look like stars. We ended up with some bigger patches of ink on there too, in cool patterns, and these feel like nebulas, or maybe distant galaxies.
These are made without any plan other than to make stars, I was reminded about a documentary we watched at the Space Centre when the kid was small called "We are Stars" and how that idea that we are made from the same stuff as stars fit so perfectly into my world view, everything is connected, every living and non-living thing in the universe, not be some mystical force, but literally through our very building blocks, we all came from the same place, humans, ants, planets and stars... lol... sorry for the tangent, but I have a tendency to type out of my head without thinking ahead, and... that's OK... so I'll leave this thought here where it landed.
Each shirt is unique, definitely not perfect, but still perfectly beautiful.
♻️ I love making things
I always have a lot of ideas in my head... and on top of that, sometimes, like this, random things happen that make me make other unexpected things... There are lots of things I want to do and try, there aren't enough hours to create them, but I am trying to make as much as I can.... because I love making them. If these things resonate with you, I do consider that an honour... but if they don't... I will still keep making them.
