*MISPRINT RESCUE* - I have no idea why I deemed this a misprint, when I look at it now I can't see why, but the handwritten text still looks amazing! Please check the photos, this is the actual shirt you are buying. These rescued misprints are hand tied and bleached by ElRat, they have been washed during the process, some more than once, they've have had an imperfect journey to get to where they are, but they are beautiful and unique, just like all of us.

🎵 A crazy idea in my head...

I had always had this idea about lyrics handwritten by Kristin Hersh, initially, because I really wanted some lyrics as a tattoo, but I couldn't shake the idea that they needed to be in her beautifully illegible hieroglyphs and it occurred to me that if I wanted this, maybe other people did too. I'm still a little blown away that she actually said yes. So this thing that started as a crazy idea in my head, finally came out into the world... and it really has been a beautiful thing.🖤

🎨 Custom Shirts and Standard Prints

So in April 2024, it actually happened. That was when we did the first ever custom lyric shirt event, and while we were doing that, I thought we should do some standard prints that would be available for everybody, and because I really can't be trusted to choose the lyrics, I asked people what they wanted. Hersh was kind enough to write a few lyric options for us, and this was what you all wanted most. These aren't just lyrics, they're Kristin Hersh's actual handwriting, inspired in my mind I guess by the original handwritten classic Throwing Muses 1986 logo. These lyrics were written by The One Hersh exclusively for ElRat Designs to bring you these handwritten lyric shirt. Funny thing, in all the stress and anxiety of getting everything ready and delivering lyrics to KH, I entirely forgot to ask for anything for myself, so I didn't get that tattoo until we did those custom shirts again in May 2025. Every Hersh purchase directly funds Kristin Hersh studio time, helping to keep her in the studio where she belongs.

After getting a flyer at the Throwing Muses gig I took a look at tge website and found a brilliant array of gorgeous items but this tee really caught my eye so I had to make it mine. Great fit, looks good and made me smile.

Top quality merch!

We ordered a couple of t-shirts after seeing Throwing Muses in Liverpool and meeting the friendly merch people there. (We bought shirts and badges at the gig, too!)
The quality of these tie dye shirts is wonderful and does justice to the high standard of everything Kristin Hersh does!
We are impressed with the choice of sizes available, too (up to 6XL, I believe?!)
The material of all the shirts is lovely and soft.
I have to mention the packaging, too. The merch came neatly folded in colourful crepe paper with custom labels and special cards and flyers. Such a nice, personal touch!
I ordered a badge which I wished I'd bought at the gig and I'm glad I've got one now. It reads "Kristin F---in' Hersh" (but not censored!)

Gorgeous

I love it, the colours are so beautiful and the material is so soft. I honestly can't tell where the fault in the print is, it looks perfect to me. I have a few of ElRat's other KH pieces and everything I've seen so far is fabulous.
